Leane Owen is the creator and host of The Real Unreal, a podcast exploring extraordinary true stories that sit at the intersection of history, human behavior, coincidence, survival, mystery, and the unexplained.

Leane approaches each story with curiosity and a healthy amount of skepticism. She isn't interested in forcing an explanation where one doesn't exist—or dismissing something simply because it's difficult to explain. Instead, she digs into the research, follows the evidence, and tries to understand not only what happened, but the people who experienced it.

That approach is at the heart of The Real Unreal. Some stories have answers. Others have competing explanations. And some leave behind questions that may never be resolved. Leane is perfectly comfortable leaving those questions open and letting listeners decide what they make of them.

Originally from Massachusetts and now based in Phoenix, Arizona, Leane brings curiosity, humor, and a little New England directness to the show. When she's not recording, she's usually researching the next story—which tends to begin with the same thought: How have I never heard about this before?
